A long time ago it was meant for the rights of women, being able to vote and the ability to own land.
Very quickly, though, once the rights were gained, the feminists went to getting against using masculine pronouns to tell about a group of people that could be male or female.
Those 2 were very good examples of feminism.
Though then, feminism started becoming something different. Instead of changing "he" to "them" or alike, it was then turned into "she".
Alot of feminism was then women opposing men, women deciding that they were superior to males and they were better and more perfect in many ways.
Neither is true. Women=Humans and Men=Humans. Neither have a superiority to eachother.
From the start, it was going against sexism. Now, most feminism is becoming sexism itself.
Real feminism includes both men and women, also including myself.
I believe that men and women are equal and should not be subject to sexual descrimination.
Many of the definitions on here you may see is greatly biased, as the people for feminism only focus on the good; the thought that feminism is against all types of stereotype "ism's", and the people against, only focus on examples like Germaine Greer who is by far a fake and sexist feminist, who denounces all men to be subhuman, inferiors and rapists.
Feminism in general is a great view of humanity in my opinion, but many hurt the philosophie's reputation by turning the good
Sexist feminists would say that all gender neutral pronouns should be said using feminine pronouns
Sexist male: Women are shit
True feminist female: No, women are equal. Sexism is bad. Don't be like that
Sexist male: Women are shit
Sexist feminist female: No, women are the best and men are shit.
Feminism believing male: Men and women are equal
Sexist feminist female: No, women are not equal to men. Men are inferior.
Proponents of the movements cite years of hardship by women when they could not access the same basic privileges as men (e.g. such as the right to vote). They argue that even though throughout history most human societies have been patriarchal, rapid advances in the past hundred years have made it necessary to rethink the status of women in relation to men. They cite that the extremes of living in a patriarchal society such as domestic violence, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and discrimination against women as their primary reasons for supporting feminism.
Opponents of the movement argue that feminism has gone too far and has accomplished most of its original goals. They argue that if it proceeds any further, there is a real danger that feminism will go on to elevate the status of women and result in a generation of emasculated men. They add that feminism has hurt gender roles and made the typical family structure unstable and caused an increase in divorces, breakups, abortions, etc.. With a surplus of women working, they argue that this has resulted in them them being away from their spouse and children and them spending less time at home.

Some people accuse feminists of hating men or viewing women as superior. Some radfems are like that, but most aren't. The very difficult struggles of women in the 20th century has resulted in signifigant gains for women IN 1ST WORLD COUNTRIES, to the point where some crazies call men worse off than women. Feminism isn't solely focused on women (it's more focused on womens issues, but most fems don't ignore men's issues), most feminists do not view men as inferior.
Feminists are mostly proponents of that people a. shouldn't judge based on gender and b. aren't limited by their biology. Thanks to feminists, sexism and rape are despised, pay diff. and legal discrim. are illegal, sex is much less taboo, the patriachy is gone and now women don't obey husbands or fathers, among many others. Now to the dark side. An new feminist ideology has emerged, not focusing on places that need feminism, like Iran where women's rights are in the dark ages, they instead focus on people's free speech first world countries. These feminists focus on a very vauge patriachy, and rape culture, and use it as an escuse to control people's speech. Remeber that it is a diverse label and you should be fine.
Feminist & feminism supporters: "we want the right to vote and equal pay!"
Man #1: "I'm too poor to care"
Man #2: "you crazy woman"
Man #3: "This cannot happen. If you seccede then I can't keep paying you a dime a week to make clothes in my factory"
Man asks a girl out, she says fuck you loser, man calls her a bitch

Feminism used to be about women getting the same rights as men, such as the right to vote and equal pay at work.
Now feminism is a movement full of women who seem to think that their ability to push a baby out of their vagina entitles them to bigger and better everything.
It is pretty hypocritical to expect to be treated special because you are a female (such as tighter laws concerning rape or more leniancy if a woman becomes pregnant) yet they get upset when they aren't being treated exactly like a man. The feminists need to realize that women are not better than men. They are EQUAL. You don't see any laws that provide special treatment for men do you?
Example: Once I saw a feminist say that abortions should be legal AND be free. I am all for abortion rights, but demanding that it be free because your ass couldn't use the proper birth control before spreading your legs is absured.
And before you pull the rape card on me, keep in mind that if you go to the hospital after being raped, they give you medications to prevent pregnancy. I see no reason for free abortions.
